Description: Mindfulness based CBT is a 3rd wave CBT format that involves the use of mindfulness to develop SKILLS in emotional regulation, interruption of impulsive responses when triggered, and the development of skills for shifting cognitions and behaviors. Case studies in both mental health and substance use will be utilized. NCASPPB approved. See NBCC approval statement below. 3.0 CONTACT HOURS of continuing ed.
Objectives:
1. Develop an understanding of how 3rd wave CBT differs from other CBT models.
2. Develop CBT mindfulness skills to teach and utilize with clients.
