Description: Participants will explore both beginning and advanced clinical supervision skills, incorporating a philosophy of developing a co-vision with the supervisee. Small group work will work towards skills in supporting supervisees to address both clinical knowledge areas that build confidence and challenge them in their counseling roles. Particpants will identify and discuss the stages of growth in supervision and supervisees, matching each developmental stage with supervisor knowledge. There will be an ethics update as well as identifying strategies for working with supervisees around the structure of the supervision setting using a case presentation format and screening for client self-harm, suicidality, and homicidality. Addressed as well, making appropriate referrals for supervisees for Employee Assistance Counseling following death of a client, and other traumatic events. This training is guided by participant desired topics and breakout sessions. Participants will utilize case studies from both mental health and substance use.
OBJECTIVES:
1. Define, explore, and discuss the philosophy of developing a co-vision with supervisees that will lead to both better outcomes for the counselor and the client whether in mental health, substance use, or dual diagnosis treatment.
2. Develop a specific plan for incorporating the development of a co-vision plan with supervisees to support their developmental stage of growth through assessment and recommendation of skills training. A SAMHSA evaluation tool will be identified and discussed.
3. Develop skills in recognizing vicarious trauma in supervisees and learn to support supervisees to cope with client death and loss, as well as relapse.

Replacement of Certificates of Attendance:
Participants will receive their Certificate of Attendance within 48-72 hours of the ACCT training completion. It will be sent to the email that you utilized to register. We encourage you to download and or print them immediately upon receipt. Request for replacement copies of certificates will be $10 per copy.
