Description: Real time clinical ethics in mental health and substance use treatment will be identified, explored, and discussed moving towards resolution and prevention. Discover the most violated ethics and how to prevent those violations. Learn how to identify and work through ethical violations with a positive outcome. Prepare for small breakout sessions to work through common ethical dilemmas. We’ll take a look at ethical guidelines from many clinical professional practice boards, including substance abuse treatment ethical guidelines.

Objectives:

1.      Identify, explore, and discuss ethical dilemmas and violations in both mental health and substance use.

2.      Explore ethics as described by various behavioral health licensure boards.

Agenda:

1-3 pm Identify, explore, and discuss current real time ethical dilemmas and most common violations leading to resolution and prevention in mental health and substance use treatments.

3 am-3:15 pm Break

3:15-5:15 pm Break out groups to process morning discussion and to specifically identify ethical guidelines of your professional practice boards.

No refunds are made due to technology problems resulting from participants audiovisual equipment or personal internet failures. Arriving more than 20 minutes late to a virtual training may prevent receipt of full workshop hours. Participants must be on camera for the duration to receive credit for the training.
