DESCRIPTION:
Participants will explore creating and cultivating a conversation about acknowledging loss and allowing for healing through the process of grieving. We’ll develop and understanding of how each person experiences grief and healing as an individual and very personal process.
We’ll look at loss and grief through the lens of many losses that occur throughout a person’s life and the stages of loss and grief. We’ll examine the role of family, friends, and community in supporting the process of healing from loss and grief. Participants will learn the symptoms of a productive course of grieving and the symptoms of Prolonged Grief Disorder. We’ll explore curriculum and workbooks both clinical and self-help to utilize with clients experiencing loss and grief. Case studies will include both mental health and substance use recovery.
OBJECTIVES:
1. Develop an understanding of the grief process as that response to loss that is a transformative, moving a person from shock, disbelief, and emotional pain to healing.
2. Develop an understanding of how loss and grief is an individualized process for each person, taking time, and support from friends, family, and the community to heal.
3. Explore curriculum and workbooks both clinical and self-help to utilize with clients experiencing loss and grief.
4. Identify the stages of grief and when the process of grieving shows symptoms of Prolonged Grief Disorder.

Replacement of Certificates of Attendance:
Participants will receive their Certificate of Attendance within 48-72 hours of the ACCT training completion. It will be sent to the email that you utilized to register. We encourage you to download and or print them immediately upon receipt. Request for replacement copies of certificates will be $10 per copy.
